Lovely afternoon at Bracklesham. Not many out and the tide was really high when I arrived, so it was flat for the first hour. Very well powered on my 5.7. Really nice to be blasting around in the sun. At about 5pm I thought I would change down to my 5m and then play about in the shallows doing some of the looping exercises that Ant suggetsed. Worked out that an extra six inches down the boom makes a world of difference. Tried some wymeroos too, but just couldn't fathom them out.
What was interesting was that once I'd done loads of catapults, I was up for loads of other stuff, so I was trying helitacks, tacks, duck gybes on my bad side, heading off dtl. I think I spend too much of my time worrying about falling in so its good to force me to do stuff. Also interesting that the 5m was nicely powered too and I don't think the wind picked up much, so there's overlap even with such a big sail spacing.
Really nice spot to sail. Bring on tomorrow!
